Darren and Matt are passionate adventure seekers and supporters of a number of charities and events including the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation, The Cancer Council, Black Dog Ride and Movember. Since their inception Two Blokes have stayed true to their form raising over $60,000 for charity over the last three years.
On their 2014 Shitbox Rally campaign Darren and Matt drove their 1984 red BMW over 9500kms in less than 14 days from Canberra to Perth for the start of the rally; then from Perth to Darwin via some of Australia’s toughest roads including the Gibb River road finishing in Darwin.
“It was a particularly special moment for me being able to get our car to Darwin and finish the rally. The car was named in memory of my mate Steve who lost his battle with cancer, but is now a big part of the fundraising work we do as ambassadors for the Steven Walter Children’s Cancer Foundation. Steve gets to come with us in memory on all of our Adventures for funD which he would have loved to be a part of”. Darren Skuse
In past events Darren and Matt have absorbed the costs to participate in and run events to support these worthy causes. With new fundraising opportunities on the horizon they are looking to expand their support network and are asking businesses to get behind them in their future campaigns.
“We have been very lucky to have great support from local businesses in the past. I believe that is due to the relationships we build with them and our ability to bring everyone along for the ride when we take on a challenge. Without their ongoing involvement we wouldn’t be able to reach the goals and targets we set out to achieve. We meet these goals whilst actively demonstrating what everyone is capable of through adversity, regardless of what challenges are thrown at you in life”. Matt Marais
Darren and Matt are continually working to further develop their relationships between Two Blokes, those who support them and the causes they support. As small business operators they understand the need to get ‘bang for buck’, and whilst the funding is going towards making a difference, they believe in ensuring the sponsor receives appropriate exposure and coverage.
As ambassadors of your business Darren and Matt will actively promote and endorse your brand. They will do this by providing information, exposing your business to the wider public and signifying the partnership between you and Two Blokes and your support of their “Adventure for funD”.
“We believe as young, motivated, and enthusiastic individuals we have demonstrated through Two Blokes what can be achieved with team work. We invite you to join the ‘Adventure for funD’ and become a part of our team”. Two Blokes
